I have a PsyD in Clinical Psychology earned in 2008 at Argosy University/Seattle. I am licensed as a Psychologist in Washington State. My CV is available for you to download.
My particular interest and expertise for psychotherapy is in the field of trauma and loss. I have conducted research on the topic of the adult children of trauma survivors. In addition to general training in the treatment of most diagnoses, I have extensive experience treating survivors of childhood trauma, chronic and life threatening illness, and persons with dissociation.
I have received training in EMDR and other empirically supported treatment for trauma. My therapeutic style and approach focus on helping you cope in the here and now by understanding the effects of earlier life experiences on your current functioning. My approach is informed by Existential, Feminist, and Client-Centered theories. As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw upon these sources in collaboration with you to develop a treatment plan for psychotherapy that reflects your strengths, your capacities, and your goals for change.
Assessment experience includes, but is not limited to, completing evaluations establishing competency to stand trial, mental health evaluations for Mental Health Court, workers’compensation (L&I) evaluations, threat of violence evaluations for employers, and evaluations for diagnostic clarification.
